Re: “Trump a loser as NFL anthem policy maker

So Jerry Jones has knowingly hired two men (Greg Hardy, Ezekiel Elliot) who were about to serve suspensions due to issues with domestic violence, but peaceful protest is what he objects to. Nice.

Re: “NFL caters to Trump on anthem demonstrations

One wonders....are NFL stadiums going to shut concession stands just before, during, and after the national anthem so that the workers and customers can pay their respects? Or does commerce win the day in the beer line?

Re: “NFL fans boo players kneeling to pray before Anthem: It isn't about the flag

I wonder how many of those who booed the players for praying are also vocal advocates for prayer in school (especially before their hometown boys hit the gridiron)?

Re: “Rapert challenger faults his reference to her

A sitting state Senator, showing up at an event where he is billed as Senator Rapert, inviting people to come ask questions of THEIR SENATOR should hardly be surprised to be asked questions. Ms. Skinner is indeed a candidate and she is also a constituent, deserving of having her questions answered just like anyone else in the room. That she is running against him does not give her questions (or her supporters' questions) less importance. They are all to be served, by their Senator, the public servant.

Granted, he doesn't have the foggiest idea that being an elected official makes you a servant of the people. He's much happier rubbing elbows with those who make big campaign contributions, no doubt, but that wasn't the forum in this case.

Re: “2017 Best of Arkansas editors' picks

I could not agree more on the lovely wackiness of Drug Emporium! I was there one day and found that I could buy jars of beef tallow, duck fat, and rendered lard. Nice upscale looking stuff, too. I limited myself to just the duck fat and my popcorn has benefited!

Re: “Can I get an amen?

He could go get an actual real job and stay out of White House matters. It's a thought....

Re: “Lend me your ears: 'Julius Caesar' opens at UCA tonight

Saw the Arkansas Shakespeare production last night and it was very well-done, per their usual. I like the sitting on the stage seating, even when I'm on the side instead of center stage. Good conceptualizing, good acting, passionate players working their craft. Highly recommend it!
