Re: “Radio station wants to drop Pine Bluff football over lewd dancers

I remember being so envious of the Pine Bluff pep squad and marching band when I was in High School (Benton). They were always on the cutting edge, playing the newest popular songs, using the trendiest dance moves and really giving it their all. Would I want them to dance at my wedding reception? No (or maybe I would - haha!). Would I want them to dance at my granny's assisted living home? Um, no. But do they offer a GREAT performance with 110% energy? Absolutely. And unless there is some new-fangled radio technology that allows you to actually SEE what you are listening to, then I don't see the problem at all -- Not to mention that the video in question was anything but lewd. Turn on MTV or Bravo and then let's redefine "lewd". Give these kids a break. They are involved in something they love, something that gives them focus and a purpose. Don't punish them because they are EXCELLENT!!! ;) Live and let live. I support PINE BLUFF!

Re: “Taxman swoops on Dizzy's

...and after reading a few of the posts, I thought it best to clarify:

Nowhere in the report does it mention "sales tax". It does say that sales increased three-fold (kudos!) but why is everyone assuming that this is sales tax? That something, in some way was "stolen" from her patrons? It could have been personal property tax or some obscure non-sales related tax. Let's get our facts in line here.

Re: “Taxman swoops on Dizzy's

What concerns me isn't that a small business may or may not be delinquent on a small tax bill....I am more concerned that OUR tax dollars are going to pay the salaries of collectors like Joy Ballard and Debra Buckner. I wasn't aware that they were spending their afternoons ambusing restaurants during their lunch hour. I find this a bit ridiculous. I would love to hear some REAL news. Furthermore, I would love to feel like they are actually providing a service to the community in their roles as tax collectors.....not just creating a spectacle.
