Re: “Rounding up the 'Inception' theories

I am not quite ready to accept the theory that Dom is trapped in his dreams and Mal is trying to rescue him. One of the holes in the movie for me is the rules of limbo. Are there multiple ways to end up in limbo while you are dreaming? Saito gets there by dying in his dream while heavily sedated. Dom seemingly ends up there with Saito because he didn’t get a kick from the 3rd dream level and/or because he drowned in the 2nd level? It is also revealed earlier in the movie that Dom has been to limbo before. With Mal? How did they get there? To me, this is the key to knowing reality from dream in the movie.

There are more holes. Does Michael Caine’s character know how to extract? How come we never see the grandmother? When a person goes to limbo, are they in a coma in reality or are they walking in their dream? How do you escape limbo? Will killing yourself work if the sedative wears off? Was Eames(sp?) the only character “forging”, which begs the question – what 2 characters were never in the same scene at the same time? Why do Saito and Mal both say “take a leap of faith” in the movie.

Finally, was the inception of Fisher just a front by Saito to plant a seed in Dom’s mind to “not grow old living a life of regret..”?

Great @$$ movie!!!

I just saw the curtains blowing and a shot of the kids, not Mal. That's when his totem fell and he couldn't confirm which state he was in.
