Re: “'The night we almost lost Arkansas'

I formed the band with Harmless. Our first gig was at the Terminal Cafe. He was nervous as a cat! We also formed Ronnie's Rayguns. We didn't know what had happened until the next day. Another friend of mine served in a missile silo. He wasn't surprised that it blew up. He said it constantly leaked Fuel and dropping a wrench would spell disaster. He also said the systems were so screwed up that it would have taken them 7 days to Launch.

Re: “'The night we almost lost Arkansas'

Not sure who OZARKRAZO is, but he must be an acquaintance of mine as I was in that Convoy of hippies traveling from Little Rock to the Ozarks for a weekend party. There was a blue haze in the air with a funny twinge to it as We Came Upon the scene with State Police and other agencies trying to move the traffic up Highway 65. They could care less that we were drinking beer and smoking pot they just wanted us out of there.
I know this is third-party hearsay so don't give me crap about it, but it helps confirm what others have said. A friend of mine had access to state police and military radio traffic transcripts immediately following the event before they knew the magnitude of what was happening. One of the conversations was regarding something important presumably of the Warhead itself that was laying in a ditch beside the highway. The command on the other end said something to the effect of get a tarp and cover it up! The Warhead definitely came out of the silo as it blew the 750 ton lid off.
