Re: “Evangelicals making tracks in Hot Springs

America a Christian nation? Yes, in that reinventing oneself/ reputation is possible, even after erring in youthful indiscretions (the message of Christ: "you are forgiven; go and sin no more"). Judges demonstrate unjust amounts of mercy, as evidenced (most recently) by the headlines regarding a twice-convicted murderer who impulsively took the life of yet another victim while others watched.
Regarding abortion rights: I'm not sure what is meant by the self-evident truths that all are created equal with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but it must have seemed important a couple of hundred years ago.
Antisemitic and Zionist: isn't that the "God of the Old Testament"--really confused there. "Cursed be Canaan, son of Ham". Was Noah being "antihamitic". not sure.
Drug court: as opposed to clinics that offer a single medication to treat all addictions. Wasn't methadone supposed to do that? It's cool, some doctors will add anti-anxiety amnesiacs to the cocktail so you forget why you felt bad in the first place.
What happened to freedom? Liberty? Learning? Reading for ourselves what ancient texts say, rather than listening to some snake sell scripture?
Oh, then there's the republican sweep of 2010, the extension of "Bush-era tax cuts", before a near-government shut-down because "we're out of money", so we refer all tax hikes back to the people. Lest we voters forget.
