Re: “Oil and gas exploration: A cautionary tale

I think most of you who are not in the oil and gas business need to quit treating all of us as greedy oil barons.

When the coal fired power plants were built, that was the state of the arts at the time. Now that natural gas is cheap today and we now are reversing our needs for petroluem imports, we cannot afford to discontinue hydrcarbons because of the "carbon effect."

Bio-fuels are not always reliable. Since most of the bio-fuels come from plants, natural disaster can, and will, effect thier utilization. Contamination and plant infestation or weather damage could well wipe out a crop. Then what do you do?

There needs to be a balance of the hydrocarbons as our primary source blended with our bio-fuels until we get hydrogen and other technologies to market.

Our company is developeing a hydrogen to fuel cell process where we can use brackish or salt water as the fuel to make electricity at a very cheap cost. We are not doing this program for the environmental reason but because it does makes sense cost wise and the environment is the ultimate winner.
