Re: “Out of the woodwork: Missouri Rep. Todd Akin

what in the hell do you think you are talking about, Citizen1 on 08/20/2012 at 4:09 PM, "What about uncomsumated rapes?"

if the crisis intervention center (source info:…)
is anywhere near accurate, 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men in the us have been raped in their lifetimes and 61% of rapes are unreported, so if you are sitting around with your spouse and a child or two, chances are at least one of you has been raped, regardless of your worldview and pontification. you could be a much better citizen by simply staying the fuck out of the conversation if you don't want to be more of the problem than solution, if you absolutely insist on bad spelling and much worse human empathy.

print this list of 20 things you can do to help end sexual assault:…
for your work bulletin board. challenge your unicorn herder to fashion a sermon that addresses this. be brave enough to look into your own heart and gird it strongly before you tell your loved ones that no matter whether or not they have ever been hurt by sexual violence and whether or not they ever tell you, you will stand by them. hardest of all might be to acknowledge that you might be able to tell your own story and accept the same support, or maybe that's the kernal of hope here. i wish you great luck.

Re: “A 'whole new day' in psychiatry

Would someone please comment on how to leverage this technology into mental health coverage for the majority of insurance policies covering Arkansans? Also, it would be great if someone with the authority in the Arkansas Department of Health or Human Services would make contact with this researcher to assure the prevention dollars follow the evidence and stay involved during the development of the UAMS BIRC fMRI best practices so that mental health can becomes a focus category for Arkansas prevention advocates. I'm nowhere near as excited about such economic applications as consumer targeted sales as I am about the opportunity for everyday Arkansans to benefit from the liberation from mental illness!
