Re: “Jefferson County election problems report

Mr. Souffer failed to report that it was Mrs. Hall's research that determined that those reported registering to vote late had indeed been qualified to vote and that she presented the information to the Election Commission and dismissed the concern of those late registrants somehow voting illegally. He continues to want to "Shoot the Messenger" without any regard to the issues that she did identify and presented to the Commission. The number of Republicans who cross overed and voted Democrat was 82 according to her analysis of the data from the County Clerk's office. That is a pretty large number to "excuse" for poor eyesight and changing their minds at the polling site. Then there was the discrepancy in the number of people actually voting on a Republican ballot as determined by the voting machine data entered into the Secretary of State's office data as compared with the data pulled from the polling books.

Re: “Can they do anything right in Jefferson County?

As an Election Commissioner in Jefferson County, one should refrain from posting on a blog in response to a criticism of the Election Process in Jefferson County since you represent the "Non-partisan group that is appointed to oversee and ensure that the election process is fair and square" Furthermore your quote from your blog post above reinforces the public perception of what is wrong with the election process, because it is always left up to the losing candidates to hold the process accountable. No one else cares. The quote from the above blog post was -- "So far this entire drama has only played out in the media fueled by the two disgruntled candidates who lost by more then the 63 alleged votes they claim should not have been cast." reported by Razorblade on 6/19/12 at 12:59 p.m. Comments like this give the perception you already have your mind made up without listening to the evidence!! By the way, there are 68 votes in question!!!
