Re: “Casting out demons: why Justin Harris got rid of kids he applied pressure to adopt

Commentor -- You need to reread the article. Hurting animals was not quite proven. Harris used the children to get elected. After elected, he rehomed the girls BUT (I think) gets the monthly $800 for their care. THE JUDGE should have stopped the adoption. Harris used his position to get the girls. HE didn't listen to the advice of the Director and others. His religion was NOT what the girls needed. Harris is NOT the best parent for ANY child including his own sons. Harris needs to be removed from office. End of story.

Re: “Casting out demons: why Justin Harris got rid of kids he applied pressure to adopt

I'd like to know if Harris is still in office. This guy sounds somewhat disturbed.
I'm glad the girls are in good homes now. But if Harris is still getting $800 a month, that makes me even more upset. That money should be going into a fund for the 3 girls to attend a school of their choice to extend their education.
DHS has it's problems, that's for sure. A "filtering" process for employees needs to be addressed and the guide lines for processing "parents" need updating to prevent things like this happening again.
Other states have had their "moments" which turned out poorly. Children have died by the hands of their natural parents, step-parents, or live ins. The families move because of being observed and the process has to be started all over in the new area of residency.
Children are at the mercy of their environment, whether that includes the adults they live with or others who enter the home for different reasons no matter where they live.
We may not want to admit it, but the lives of children are in OUR hands because of who we vote into office. Yes. We need to make better choices as to who has control of the funds alotted for DHS and demand better guide lines for the DHS to follow.
If Harris is still in office then get rid of him. There HAS to be someone better to vote in to make sure this type of underhanded activity doesn't happern again.
YOU CAN help children and make a difference in their lives by taking the time to watch and listen while at home, a restaurant, play ground, etc. By making an anonimous phone call to DHS, you might save the life of a child.
