Re: “The problem with charter schools. First, they aren't public schools

To Max,

Please don't group all schools together and give people the wrong impression of what a charter school is. Charter schools CAN be public, charter schools CAN get involved with the community, and regarding their TEST SCORES, because thats what you mean when you say academic performance. Public schools get the test scores of all the best students for that. So what abut the kids that get left behind? What about the students that read at a 3rd grade level in the 7th grade? What about the students that are having mental issues due to the stress public schools put them in to be all or nothing.

I'll leave you on this, it's the system, not the school, not the teachers, and serenely not the students. Something needs to change in the system. So instead of arguing over which is better, argue over how you can help make that change happen.

Charter is just like a TRADITIONAL school, some are good, some are bad.
