Re: “A small rant: Hunka Pie

He is not going to stay in business very long with that attitude at the new location. Now people will have to make a choice of going out of their way to eat there and if they are not open consistently, they will go somewhere else...

I will choose to spend my money elsewhere after seeing these comments. Oh well... Plenty of other restaurants to choose from...

Re: “Trinity: Cathedral School finances too poor for survival

This is from the perspective of the Dean, Vestry and a select few backers who wanted the school to close in my opinion.

From what I was told the 6th grade would add minimal expense to the school's operating budget because no additional faculty would be needed to handle the load because the school was slightly overstaffed to be begin with.

Yes there was a tax lien going back 2 years ago when previous administration thought the school as going to close and they stopped paying most of the bills. The lien was being addressed and the school was in negotiations with the IRS to pay that debt.

The school has received no financial support from the Cathedral for many years. As a matter of fact, the school was billed on a monthly basis for Cathedral facilities used by the school.

I think the comment by Diogenes was a little short sided because we do support the community at the Cathedral School. Through the sholarship programs, the school had one of the larger minority enrollment rates of any private school in Little Rock.

Every morning the students would say the school pledge with the pledge of allegiance in which they say they will care for themselves and others, work hard, do their best, try to be a better person than the day before and use their talents for the glory of God and the Cathedral School.

How is that a bad thing?

Re: “Classic Americana

The burgers are excellent and the daily specials are good too. Wednesday is Chicken/Spinach enchilada which is one of my favorites...
