Go Get It

Photo and essay by Raphael McFarling, 17

The photos I present before you as my audience are basically based on gambling, but we in Marvell so we just cal them our “sports.” After people in other places might see us as gambling, but where we from we see as you got to eat to survive.

We don’t have no fast food places say for example, Mickey D’s, Wendy’s and Sonic to have money in our pocket. The jobs we got down here are mainly working in the fields and most teens like me don’t like those jobs.

So we figure any sports to play, from old ones to new ones, or we will make one up, just so we won’t be bored. If you win you won’t be broke.

Now you tell me this, would you rather pick peas or play some dirty sports. Now you tell me is that gambling or is it just the way we survive.
