Re: “Department of Correction restricts inmate mail to three pages, no large cards

I sent my son 3 separate small envelops for Christmas and his birthday; in one envelop was 3 single page letters from myself and his two younger sisters. The other envelop contained a two small christmas cards from myself and his siblings also i included two small team pics of his youngest sister and brother; one play soccer and one basketball. And the last envelop contained (3) 46 pics, one of myself, his middle sister first high school homecoming and his sister in college. I was told he didnt get the letters, pics nor cards because its only 2 pages allowed for a letter. Thats the craziest thing ive heard. They want to say it's to control drugs but a lot of the things they get come from officers etc. Why would someone send illegal items through mail when it can easily be scanned.Sending illegal items to inmate is like trying to get through the airport with a . Why try it when it can easily be detected. Receiving letters, cards and pics give inmates a sense of love and connection with their love ones. They dont want inmates to have hope or feel some kind of love during their difficult time in life. A change needs to be made.
