If you think this is bad, the other side of the equation, the tort litigators, are just as bad. Just search for "Wilkes" or "Reddick" and you will find information on these attorneys that fleece nursing homes and trucking companies. I assume you know that each of huge verdicts they have received are reimbursed partially (sometimes up to 65%) by Arkansas Medicaid (AKA state tax payers) Also, it is very interesting that these same attorneys, that claim to be patient advocates, only practice in states where it is extremely favorable to them--Arkansas, Mississippi, Florida and Texas (Until Texas instituted tort reform). Further these "patient advocates" are even more active within certain jurisdictions where they have very favorable judges, such as southern Arkansas. (Search for Judge Gibson/Nursing Home verdicts) There are two sides to every story.
