Re: “A Huckabee in the Senate? No, not him.

As a follower of the opposing party, I wish Warren's prediction would come true. However, my observations of this state indicate that many still are drinking from the republican gatorade and getting told how they are supposed to feel from Faux News and buying into it. So, there will be no swamp draining in this state in the next election and there may be an uprising if any attempt is made to change it in DC.

Re: “Michael Flynn pleads guilty to lying to FBI

They'll have to buy another color jumpsuit for his former boss when he joins him...He'd be kind of camouflaged in orange.

Re: “A Huckabee in the Senate? No, not him.

It hurts me to say this because I really wanted to like Mike Beebe, but...let him be at the Searcy Country Club. It was only under his administration that, as a state employee, I was made to feel like a second-class citizen. And, I worked under Sarah's daddy's administration along with a few others for over 28 years.

Re: “Ordinance to protect animals left in vehicles gets a rewrite

Every time an animal ordinance or regulation is drawn up or talked about, the Farm Bureau and its ilk drag up the livestock subject. It's just getting tiresome. Dimplasm is right, though. If you aren't taking Fluffy somewhere to have fun or get checked up, leave them at home.

Re: “Monday: An open line and today's news and comment

It's been a tragic day and I had totally intended to not talk politics. However, since Max brought it up. A few years ago, I was at one of the women's rallies to fight for their reproductive rights. You know that continuous battle that keeps having to be fought every time a new judge is appointed in one of the supreme courts. But, I digress. While I was there, Planned Parenthood gave me a card to address to my state senator and representative urging sex education in the classroom. I was hesitant to send it because I had established a line of communication with my representative and he would address my comments and send me updates periodically. However, I went ahead and did it because I think it is important. I got sex ed from a magazine and what was heard in conversation with junior high and high school classmates. It wasn't until I got to ASU and had Health and Safety that real sex education was addressed. Well, of course the senator was never heard from on the subject because sex is a box you mark on an application to him. The representative did send me a letter. He said that sex education should be left up to the parents and they should have control of it. It also ended our friendly back and forth. This state is doomed to continue its backslide into the 1950's on this and many other issues unless it wakes up and smells the afterbirth.

Re: “10 Commandments monument at Arkansas Capitol destroyed; suspect in custody for apparent repeat offense

Or, perhaps it was Moses coming down from Mt. Sinai and seeing all that is going on in the world, got mad and threw it on the ground.

However it got done, previous posters were correct...It would have been better for it to get removed via court proceedings.

The cynic in me believes that this was all a part of a plan to make those opposing the monument look bad and make a certain senator look better.
