Re: “Insalaco won't seek re-election as Arkansas Democratic Party chair

In an email from the Washington Co. Democratic committee, Tyler Clark, the DPA Treasurer and Chair of the county committee there, say this:

It was the ruling of the Meeting Chair, Karen Garica, that rules would not be suspended and there would not be an adoption of the previously forgotten transition plan (which would allow for State Officer Election in February 2017 vs. February 2019). A question was called by the body to overrule the Chair's decision (which would have opened the door to accepting the transition plan with the 2017 elections) but failed to pass (after lots of discussion with Legal Counsel and Rule Committee Chair, Jay Barth).

As the rules stand currently, Officers of the Democratic Party of Arkansas would not face reelection until February 2019. In full disclosure, this would include my position as Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Arkansas.

2a) Following this vote, Chairman Vince Insalaco, who previously announced he was not seeking a third term, asked for time to evaluate how long he would continue to serve as Chair of the Party. His indication was that he did not plan to serve the full term in 2019.

So when will the election be held? Who calls this election if Insalaco steps down?

No matter, the DPA is a dead beast no matter who is the chair. Too many people have been disgusted and worn out by the BS that has passes for business as usual in LR. It's the same old (and I do mean old) faces day in and day out, year in and year out.

Bunch of white racists wanting to send their kids to majority white schools instead of the majority black Blytheville school.

Re: “Legislative Council passes Rapert resolution against same-sex marriage and for judge punishment

Who were the f'ing "Democrats" who signed??? Time to move them out of the Party. We're a big tent party but there is no room for prejudice of any kind. There are still racists in the party, and they walk hand in hand with the homophobes.

Re: “Flawed Arkansas voter ID procedure gets national attention

I was asked by the poll worker to verify my address while she held my DL. This poll worker knows me well, as her youngest son and I were good friends in High School, and my parents lived across the street from her and her husband for over 20 years.

I've asked an election commissioner why she asked me to verify my address. He told me that was the way they were told to do it.

Several other's I've spoken to said they were also asked to verify either address or DOB when voting.
