Re: “Rep. Josh Miller, recipient of significant government assistance, opposes Medicaid expansion in Arkansas

Josh you and I are from the same hometown. In 2010 I was on my way to work and had a severe MVA. I was sober. I did not receive the treatment I needed then because I had no insurance. Doctors immediately dismissed me from their care when I was discharged from the hospital with no follow up. I was in ICU for one month on life support because I had crushed my chest. I also broke my back in three places and went to rehab for a week to learn to walk again. The only financial assistance I was ever awarded was hospital charity from Baptist. Since my health was seen as improving, no aid was to be given on my behalf. I was to wear a back brace for 10 months before returning to work and the surmounting debt I was experiencing was beyond depressing. After several years of battling chronic pain and depressive disorder(no medications) I returned to work, only to find that the hardware in my chest had been growing an infection for quite some time. It all had to come out. Then I found out my ribs had bone infection. I have two IV lines in my arm, delivering antibiotics 3 and 4 times a day. I have a wound vac that I should have been put on my wound when it was 8 in. long, 4 in. wide, 3 in. deep, but just got it a week ago because now I have insurance. I attend college every day despite all this. Are you telling me that I deserve to rot from the inside out like I was well on my way to doing because I am of a lower status of human?! I'm sick to hear this!!
