LiveStock at Juanita’s April 12 benefits Heifer.

DAMN BULLETS: At LiveStock.
  • DAMN BULLETS: At LiveStock.

Three of the top bands in Arkansas, two of which competed in the 2007 Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase and the third a two-time Showcase finalist, and an up-and-coming Fort Smith pop/R&B singer in the mold of Justin Timberlake will perform tonight (April 12) at Juanita’s Cantina Ballroom for LiveStock 2007, a benefit for Heifer Project organized by the University of Central Arkansas Honors College.

Conway’s orchestral rock-pop band Latture, Little Rock’s rockabilly Damn Bullets (three members attended UCA and a fourth went to Hendrix in Conway) and Jonesboro’s modern rock band Further Down will be joined by solo act Joseph Hedinger. Damn Bullets reached this year’s Showcase final, while Latture was a semifinalist. Further Down played twice in the Showcase finals in recent years. Hedinger is the younger brother of Isaac Hedinger, lead singer of the rock band Starkz. Joseph Hedinger will open the show, performing solo with a keyboard. Each act will play for about 30-40 minutes.

The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door, with the proceeds going to supplies for Heifer’s program to send cows to foreign countries where milk is in short supply.

This marks the fifth year for the UCA Honors College to put on the benefit, and after being held in Conway the event returns to Juanita’s, where the first LiveStock was held 10 years ago.
