Re: “Vote planned to rescind approval of Murphy Oil station at 12th and University; former backer Kumpuris to make motion UPDATE

The Pulaski Tech campus at 8901 Kanis Rd. is in bad shape. Could a new campus be built at 12th and University?

Re: “Seven reasons why closing late-night clubs early is a bad idea for Little Rock

Recent actions of the City of Little Rock:

Encrypt LRPD radio traffic..."officer safety". Officer Safety trumps right to know. Thanks, Little Rock, now I have to trust that your LRPD PR department is even reporting the story, much less the actual facts surrounding the story... and THEN I have to trust that the local media reports the actual facts without spin... two layers of BS...

Eliminate 5 a.m. clubs... "public safety". Yet, LRPD works off duty at these locations every weekend. The officers receiving that off duty pay aren't complaining! No, in fact, no one is really complaining. Just Joan Adcock, Brad Cazort, and the other city board haters out there that have no idea what is it like to work in the service industry. When all you do day in and day out is cater to big business execs, bankers, real estate tycoons, and such -- you quickly lose touch with the pulse of your everyday citizen. Side note: I see Joan Adcock, Bruce Moore, and others frequently out and about in LR. They never speak to me, but I damn sure know who they are. I remember one Bruce Moore gave me a go to H look because I was being loud at a table next to his at the Afterthought. LOL!!!!!! :)

Mayor Stodola breaks a tie vote to approve MURPHY USA to build a gas station at 12th and University, after much opposition by residents of that neighborhood, including their neighborhood association. Thank you Stacey Hurst, and Gene Fortson for losing complete touch with your constituency. Obvious Q #1: did we need another gas station? Q #2: does big business trump the needs and desires of everyday citizens EVERY SINGLE TIME?

Dang. What's next? Regulating my drink size? What about if I want double meat on my sandwich at Subway? Awe now! What about all those dangerous half-drunk, pilled out soccer moms driving up and down Chenal, or in the heights?? Can we do something about that? Taking away what little activities the twenty and thirty somethings have to do is a bad deal. Did anyone watch Bangin' in Little Rock? Or Still Bangin' in Little Rock? What was the main message from both of those? Youth, and young adults need stuff to do (jobs and activities). It's no wonder why gangs were so prevalent in the early 90's... why drugs and violence rule our impoverished areas now... because jobs are hard to find and activities are few. Take away clubs -- get ready Little Rock. But just remember -- when the war pops off -- it won't effect the board. They live sheltered and privileged, yet, wonder why the everyday folk resent them so much. It's really of no consequence to them, however. Big business rules the day.

Re: “Private clubs and Uber/Lyft hit LR City Board agenda

With LR Police encrypting their radio traffic, who knows what the actual "police calls for service to late night clubs" numbers will be in the following months. We're now relying on the PR department of LRPD to tell us the news. Scary.
