Re: “Dugan's and the appeal of the moderately Irish Pub

Just went to Dugan's Pub on Saturday evening, a wee bit late for celebrating St. Patrick's Day but the best we could do since we had to work on the actual St. Patrick's day and the day after it. The Shepherd's Pie was more meaty than expected, very good and hearty. The Irish Stew was excellent. And, the Filet Mignon was surprisingly superb. However, the "Irish Coffee" was horrid! It was like dishwater with cream on top and no hint of Irish Whiskey at all. So, we tried the Dublin Iced Tea which was even more disappointing, tasting exactly like a weak limeade! The only one in our group who had some of the beer on tap was satisfied with his drink. We may return when in the mood for Irish food, but for an Irish coffee to celebrate St. Patrick's Day we will go elsewhere. It is sad when an Irish Pub with good Irish food does not choose to serve good Irish coffee.
