There was a leak in one running under the Hudson River in NY a few years ago... Someone noticed the bubbles rising on the surface of the water. They fixed it. No problem. Natural gas lines are everywhere but they rarely do harm, so most people aren't even aware that they have them running right past their homes. We had natural gas furnaces in two places I lived. There is a gas belt that surrounds the earth, for that matter... There is no stopping natural disasters, and accidents happen
