Re: “Another departure from Heritage Department; Stacy Hurst fires Delta Cultural Center leader

I thinks it's time for that saleslady go back to seeing flowers. East AR sho not voting her arrogant boss, Asa, back in.. We've had enough of them... Harrington has been the only person to bring life into DCc... Not that flower salesman..

Re: “Food truck v. restaurant

Let me chime in.
First, I've been in the mobile business longer than most of the downtown brick and mortars been in business. I been around so long there was not even health department regulations on the books.

To blame mobiles for a 20% is wrong, to put it nicely. We are in an economic downturn. Both the newbie mobiles and the brick are to blame.

Newbies, must use common sense, voluntarily stay away from b&m establishments.

B&m, how about carrying items people can actually afford. You say you can't change items as fast as mobiles, well that's a cop out.

Mobiles have not destroyed the restaurants in NYC, who has been doing this for years. Do like many b&M's turn your front plate glass wasted space into a walkup counter concept. Its proven and it works. B&M have amenities over mobiles, ie. sometimes liquor, seating, protection from the elements, heating & air conditioning. We, the mobiles, pay our fair share of taxes also.

The government role is not here to protect a mobiles nor a brick & mortars monopoly.
