Re: “Rightwing watch: Extremist blogger endorses extremist Arkansas congressional candidate

As FUBAR as our federal government is it is almost irrelevant which party a candidate claims to be affiliated with- its just about the money.

Re: “Hunting season opens — for candidates bearing guns

Steven, thanks for the info- you have a lot of knowledge of firearms and being a collector doesn't make you bad guy either. I have a small collection myself, mostly gathered from the various fields of operations in which I served over the years. Perhaps you can educate me on the sporting aspect of hunting. I don't get it and I'll admit that up front I've heard all the arguments about thinning out the population to prevent intrusion to human territories and to assure adequate food supply, etc. but doesn't nature do that? If hunting isn't for provision of an essential food source for humans how does it make sense? The story you mentioned about girl who could pop a prairie dog at 300 yds. rather makes my point- why do it? Personally, I've seen enough killing in my lifetime and I would only do it again in self defense. You appear to be an informed and respectful guy so I would appreciate your thoughts. All the best.

Re: “Hunting season opens — for candidates bearing guns

Strange, I guess being an asshole yourself you probably have a lot in common with the other gutless sacks of crap that I mentioned. How many "trophies" do you have on the wall or like most other conservatives do you just talk the game and have none. I'm not a "lefty" or a "tree hugger" or any of the other lame epithets that people like you enjoy assigning but I do have respect for all life, even low life. When I was stationed in Alaska once I saw the Inuit hunt for caribou, bear and other food sources that meant the difference in whether they ate during the winter or not. But they didn't have a Kroger handy and still they hunted what they needed- no more, because they shared the need for survival with the animals. From most of the fat ass slobs I see rolling out of their 4x4's at Gander Mountain it doesn't look like they have missed any meals lately nor are they likely to. They just need hope that their raisin like testicles may have a chance.

Re: “Hunting season opens — for candidates bearing guns

Apart from the ridiculousness of this woman's appearance as bwana of the Ozarks I really have to question the intelligence of any politician (or anyone else for that matter) who imagines that being photographed with a weapon somehow enhances their acceptability. Let's get real. As Deathbyinches pointed out, killing animals in the wild for a food source is unnecessary in the 21st century and by and large only points out the cowardice of the hunter. Hunting is only "sport" when two more or less equally matched opponents engage each other. I just don't see how a deer or squirrels or any of the other harmless animals in nature constitute sport and certainly not necessity for food. When feeders with corn, salt licks and other lures are scattered around the woods and the brave hunter is hiding in a tree blind with a 100x scope and large caliber rifle I don't see much sport to that. All I see is a CS with an inferiority complex who has the need to control something. These same personality characteristics would apply to wife beaters, road rage, child abusers and the rest of the gutless bullies of the world. How about in order to obtain a hunting license the applicant must successfully complete a competency test- he (or she) enters a wooded area on one side and a trained Special Forces member on the other and the license applicant must come out alive to earn the permit. How many would take that challenge? After all, that's about as good as the odds are for the deer.

Re: “Tom Cotton lives where again?

Dear Max,
Thanks for turning the lights on the cockroaches again. Cotton is a disgrace to any state's "leadership" and certainly not fit to represent the good people of Arkansas. He has proven himself to be an opportunistic whore who will embrace any political position to advance his personal agenda, Tom Cotton, and found his round peg in the square hole of the Tea Party. Mainstream Republicans wouldn't have him so he is relegated to the redneck fringe so he can utter bumper sticker slogans and find an audience.

Strange, if you consider Cotton some sort of gold standard for "genuine Arkansas" boys you are issuing a huge insult to a lot of good people. If people in this state were really that stupid there would be a traffic jam on I-30 south heading for Texas.

Re: “Drug problem halts capital punishment, maybe forever

As I browsed through the rest of the headlines: "Police blotter: Rape arrest, teacher resignation" " Small-town Arkansas fire chief charged with child rape" " Gunshot victim dies week after shooting"" Police wound man who pulled gun at 15th and Oak" and the list goes on. What the hell do we care how the justice system disposes of people who are the perpetrators of crimes like these? Someone who rapes a child, rapes and murders a woman, kills a Police officer doesn't deserve much consideration and sure doesn't deserve to sit on death row for 20 years while the appellate process lingers along. If a jury finds a defendant guilty and the judge orders the death penalty then take their ass out and shoot them and save the taxpayers a lot of money while ridding the world of its garbage. Forget the friggin drugs!
