Re: “Blacks punished more often in schools

WOW larock that is kinda harsh! We have invested a great deal of money and effort to bring about parity in school performance between black and white students. The bottom line is that it is all for naught if the family life is disfunctional. Under these circumstances that would result from not disciplining Black students would be further chaos in the class room.

Re: “Blacks punished more often in schools

Inner City schools have much more money for each student and typically higher pay scales for teachers yet they cannot keep teachers. Why? Because of the behavior problems in the classroom..the violence the threats from students. In Arkansas Helena and Little Rock schools have double the money that schools in other parts of the state have yet the achievement is very low. I believe thqt all students should have an equal investment made in their education. That is not the case today!

Re: “Blacks punished more often in schools

Perhaps students have suspensions because they are not interested in school and that drives the result of dropping out? If parents do not understand how to value education their children won't? Children that are raised without books in the home, homes where time is not set aside for children to study will produvce children that cannot succeed in school and if they are falling behind they often act up and disrupt class.

Re: “Blacks punished more often in schools

Black kids are disciplined more often because they disrupt class and disrespect teachers and assault other students more often than other students. If Mr Huddleston wants Black kids to be disciplined less then he should push for better behavior by black students. The alternative is to simply allow black students to behave in ways that are not tolerated in school today.
