Re: “Metroplan announces design competition

Having had the chance to drive over it a few times recently, I find the Zakim-Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge in Boston to be quite striking, and it adds a lot to that city's skyline. I would love to see something like it in Little Rock. However, the length of the span seems most suited for the less-interesting plate girder design.

Re: “Immigration raids underway

It was Mountain View. The same restaurant has locations in all 4 places. My sources were present in the restaurant in Mountain View when it was raided earlier today.

Re: “Koch heads routed in Jonesboro

I don't get the hangup over the teleprompter. Are all Tea Partiers also Luddites? Perhaps all presidential speeches should be inscribed on stone tablets? Why no outrage over the use of teleprompters by news anchors? Hannity, O'Riley & the rest have there teleprompters at the ready every night.

This is the Koch/AFP M.O. They hold a rally, and anyone who shows up with an alternative view, or even to ask some pointed questions, is clearly there only to disrupt. Even when the "belligerent" trouble makers are standing at the back of the AFP crowd, silently holding signs, and not preventing anyone from hearing whatever show pony the Koch bros. have trotted out to distract the easily-distracted. It's not really a rally; it's a circle jerk.

i've seen it with my own eyes.

Re: “Committee spent $203,000 to pass LR sales tax

No need to go all the way to D.C., DBI. Professor Peltz over at UALR Law literally wrote the book on Arkansas' FOIA, and as well all know it's got teeth when properly enforced.

Re: “Zoo gets $223,000 from former docent

What a lovely final gesture by Mrs. French; may she rest well.

Re: “Occupy Kappa Sigma

Well at least these guys have declared what side they're on. Somebody should keep a copy of the current membership roster around to refer back to when one or more of them decides to enter public life.
