Re: “Fight to preserve Fort Smith Rebels continues; backers punked by fake song story

Some people are hung up in the past, hanging on to tradition that is based on ignorance and stupidity. Over a million Americans died during the civil war for all the same reasons three million people world wide died in WWII.

Re: “Crowding on Kanis

A round-about would be a good solution. Down here in Florida more round-abouts are replacing four way stops if space it available. It looks like Arkansas does not have a urban planning board that requires traffic studies to be preformed before issuing permits to builders. In Florida builders are required to pay impact fees for building new roads, water and sewer lines and public services such as police and 911 before getting a permit to build new homes.

Re: “Johnny Cash boyhood home opens

That house never looked that good when Johnny lived there. Its good to see someone saw value in re-purposing the old house.

Re: “Keystone: Fight ignores fact

It will be interesting to see if the backers of the Keystone pipeline can cost justify the expense of building and maintaining it at less than $60.00 a barrel. The reason why the lobbyist were in a hurry to get it approved is that below $85.00 it is not cost effective. Anther question is, why would you ship oil from Canada to Houston when the gulf of Mexico has supper wells like the Deep Water Horizon well? Another Republican led fleecing of America.

Re: “Tom Cotton would repeal the private option — and cut more out of Medicaid, ARKids on top of that

I am pro-Obama care but I have to say young people that get pregnant are taking advantage of Medicare by not paying for cost of having a child. I have relatives that are doing so and I don't like it especially when they have a second or third child at government expense. Medicare needs to go after the both the Daddys and the Moms to pay these Medicare cost, they are working the system. In most cases the mother and father report different addresses but still live together. That is wrong and is why so many Tea Party types have an issue with Medicare.

Re: “Cargill holding firm on hog farm in Buffalo River watershed

Hi my name is Ozark Jim, I grew up in Arkansas and now live in Fort Lauderdale. I remember when Tyson and Cargill got into the hog business back in 1978. Back then know one back then wonted a hog farm in their county except broke farmers looking for a quick paycheck. Now that the rooster has come home to roost Cargill is in a quagmire with the cost to shut the farm down. Back when they got the Arkansas EPA approval to build the farm, I am sure some Arkansas politicians got some big checks for their efforts in helping Cargill get the approval. The side benefit to the politicans was that it ant going to built in their district where know one wont a hog farm. Mt. Judea is out of sight out of mind for most people and it has a lot of broke farmers that are willing to put up with the smell and runoff. This needs to be a lesson to the people of Arkansas of setting on the sidelines for these kind of social issues has its consequences.

The solution is stop eating pork. I have and my health has improved.

Re: “Arkansas begins to grapple with climate change
