Re: “Greyhounds put in harm's way so racino can prosper

"Do you think a dog that had been "hit" and "doped" would have been "the best companion"? Seriously people, dogs who are abused take a lot of time to, if ever, become loyal, loving companions. These dogs, for the most part come off the track with tails wagging and ready to be pets."

First of all, I've seen the remnants of abuse in some of the dogs I've adopted. Running and hiding when men come into the house, absolutely terrified of brooms, etc. The doping takes other forms, cancers in females for example. Those that do come off the track wagging their tails are a testament to the breed, NOT the racing industry.

Those in the racing industry will defend this exploitation forever. They're making a lively hood on the backs of these dogs. I've had it with the tracks, the breeders, the adoption groups that won't speak out against racing. The racing industry cares nothing for these dogs, except for the money they may make. When they don't, good bye, in one form or another. It's only a matter of time, this is a dying industry. It just can't die soon enough for me.
