Thank you for the feedback, yellowdogdaughter, will check the salt on chicken salad, it is always a fine line between not enough and too much, and cold shrimp & grits are a no no, please tell your friends to contact Joe at the restaurant, and I would love to buy them some Shrimp & Grits, our number one selling entree. If you remember date & time you were there please let me know, that is always helpful, Thanks

As one of the owners of Afterthought Bistro & Bar, I listen to all comments from our customers, good and bad. Michael's experience does not fall within the normal Bistro feedback. Most comments, both solicited and unsolicited, are very positive. When an issue is brought to our attention, we make every effort to correct it. Perfection in a restaurant is not possible, but responding to customer input and remedying a problem is.

I respect Michael's opinion, but I do not agree with him. Anytime we receive negative (read: constructive) feedback, we always look at the situation and see if there is anything we can do to improve the process or rectify the problem. That is how you become a better business, no matter your industry.

I have confirmed that I was having dinner at the same time Michael was in the restaurant that night. I was there with my children and a group of friends, there was another full table in the dining room, a party in one of our private dining rooms, and a busy happy hour on the bar side. I am baffled as to why Michael claimed that the Bistro was empty. That is not the case.

I only know Michael by name and reputation, as I have never met him personally. I do know he does an excellent job writing and I read his food blog regularly.

I encourage Michael to try us again. I would enjoy having dinner with him to discuss the menu, the food, and how the Bistro operates. We work hard to provide great food, at a great price point, in a nice environment. Based upon the feedback we receive, we seem to be doing that and more.

I encourage everyone to give us a try - we welcome your feedback. If I am not at the restaurant when you are there, feel free to ask for a card from my staff. I would love to hear from you.
