Re: “'The spineless gun vote': Why?

Who was it that said Arkansans didn't favor expanded background checks? Yeah, that little baseless claim just blew up in a puff of facts:…

Over 70% of Arkansans favor expanded background checks. Thanks for having the courage to vote *against* the wishes of your constituency, (soon-to-be ex-) Senator.

Re: “Gun battles (political) rage on

And I'll take your comment as a tacit concession that yes, guns DO kill people. Thank you.

Re: “Gun battles (political) rage on

Ah, but Steven, are you dead from the stabbing? No. Statistically, you'd almost certainly be dead from being shot. Are you really so dense that you cannot comprehend that? Really?

Re: “Gun battles (political) rage on

Thanks for completely missing the point, Steven. How many people did the fellow in Houston kill yesterday? Zero. How many was he trying to kill? At least fourteen. You seem to be as bad as math as you are at logic.

How many people were killed in Sandy Hook?

What is the primary difference between the two attacks?

Can you connect the dots, or must I draw you a map and hold the flashlight?

As for countries with stringent anti-gun laws and their efficacy, may I point to to Australia? That seems to demolish your "point" pretty nicely. The primary difference between here and Australia, though, (aside from having the seasons reversed) is that a significant minority of Australians isn't in thrall to a gun-manufacturer's lobbyist group in the guise of a "civil liberties" organization, spouting fear-mongering lies in an effort to drive gun sales, public sentiment (and safety) be damned.

Re: “Gun battles (political) rage on

If guns aren't the problem, then why are there 14 stabbed people in Houston after the latest crazy attack and not 14 (or more) dead? This guy fully intended to murder as many people as possible, but a scalpel simply isn't as efficient at killing people as a gun. The same thing happened in China just before Sandy Hook - a crazy guy goes on a spree in an elementary school, but cuts 22 people, killing none. Folks, I know you love your precious guns, but the claim that "guns don't kill people" is utter bull$h!+. How many times does it have to be empirically demonstrated before you'll get it through your thick skulls? Guns kill people very, very well. Crazy person + gun(s) = killing spree. Crazy person + knife = seriously injured but NOT DEAD. Once again we see that objective reality has a liberal bias.
