Re: “Big talk

"It's interesting to observe the righteous left rapidly adopting the techniques of the angry right. Without identifying a single falsehood or one fallacious argument, we go straight to the author's imagined motive, to personal attack and name-calling. Most often anonymous, of course." -Aloysius

I take it Aloysius is your real name. Or is it Gene?

Regardless ALL the points that were made in the comment section can easily be searched. Remember, google's your friend!

Re: “Big talk

Poor ole Gene.

I don't condone threats of violence from either side of the political spectrum but I can understand their frustration, at least from many liberals. Your blindness to Hillary's flaws (and there are quite a few) and your treatment of Bernie Sanders (and his supporters) in past articles helped spell doom for a Hillary presidency.

All the points the above two commentators made are correct and I'd like to add one more: her war mongering. Anyone who gives a bloodthirsty speech like she did at the AIPAC conference and that the war criminal Henry Kissinger is her "friend and mentor" frankly DESERVES to be called out for it. The fact that you refused to acknowledge this (and the same goes for the rest of the corporate media as well) shows that alternate sources of news are needed.

"There is a lot of money to be made denying reality". Truer words were never spoken - sadly, you're unable to see that you are denying reality as well.

Re: “World in chaos?

Oh irony! Gene Lyins is sticking his head in the sand once again - a perusal at ANY pro-hillary blog (or even the comment section here at times) will reveal ALL the fear mongering you need in the form of this rationale: "a vote for 'insert your favorite candidate here' is a vote for Trump unless you vote for Hillary", which is of course a hypocritical B.S. statement.

Just this morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" the similarly deluded beltway 'journalist"Cokie Roberts called Trump supporters "morally tainted" while completely ignoring Hillary's corrupt past. So along with the fear mongering Hillary's shills also use smear tactics at Trump supporters.

It is not surprising "journalists" like Lyins and Roberts are clueless as to why Trump and Clinton have abysmally low approval ratings. Voting third party's looking more and more like a winning proposition.

Re: “Hillary hit jobs

I'm not sure what planet Gene Lyins was residing on when he wrote this "article" or what he ingested, but he desperately needs to reexamine the findings of those "damn emails. From politifact:

"About 2,000 emails have been retroactively classified, or up-classified, meaning the information was not classified when it was emailed, but it is now.

"Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information," Comey said in a July 5 statement.

Then, there was this exchange between Comey and Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., at the congressional hearing:

Gowdy: "Secretary Clinton said there was nothing marked classified on her emails either sent or received. Was that true?"

Comey: "That’s not true."

Gowdy: "Secretary Clinton said, ‘I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material.’ Was that true?"

Comey: "There was classified material emailed."

In fairness to Clinton, Comey said some of the classified emails were insufficiently marked, and it’s understandable that she didn’t realize that some of the ones without labels were actually classified.

But he also said of some of the classified emails that did not bear markings, "There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton's position or in the position of those with whom she was corresponding about the matters should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation."

"In other words, contrary to the FBI director's grandstanding press conference and a million Republicans chanting, "Hillary lied," there were zero documents marked classified on her server. Not one." Oh really, Gene? Again, from politifact:

"Clinton said regarding the presence of classified information in her email, FBI director James "Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I've said is consistent with what I have told the American people."

A reasonable person would interpret Clinton’s statement to mean that Comey has endorsed her public remarks about her email. This is not the case.

Talking specifically about Clinton’s closed-door FBI interview, Comey said there is "no basis to conclude she lied to the FBI" about her email practices. But Comey has specifically declined to comment on whether Clinton’s public remarks have been accurate.

Further, while not explicitly rebuking Clinton’s public comments, Comey highlighted a major problem with them.

Clinton repeatedly said she did not have any classified information whatsoever in her email, marked or unmarked. After the FBI investigation, including the interview with Clinton, Comey said she unequivocally did.

We rate her claim Pants on Fire."

In other words this crapfest of an article is nothing but spin and, yes, lies.

"Extremely careless"... When you factor in her voting for and funding the Iraq war as senator and her foreign policy towards Honduras, Haiti, and Libya as secrestary of state, it nicely sums up Hillary's political career.

Re: “Hillary hit jobs

Thank you, Steven E, for pointing that out. Can I also point out some of her other "accomplishments" as secretary of state?

How about her decision to vote for the Iraq war, and for voting numerous times to FUND the war as senator?

How about her warmongering speech at the AIPAC conference which would satiate Dick Cheney?

Her mess with Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

And lastly, the mere fact that the war criminal Henry Kissinger is her friend and mentor.

With all this negativity all around her, she may wish she was back in Bosnia dodging sniper fire!
