Re: “Rapert seeks to derail medical marijuana amendment, floats ban on smoking marijuana

One of the many good things about marijuana becoming legal in many states is now we are able to do legitimate scientific studies on this plant and can finally separate fact from unfounded propaganda. So let's look at what science has to say about Rapert's statement about how smoking marijuana is bad for you, just like tobacco.

Here is a study of thousands of people including long time marijuana smokers that shows they are no more likely than the average non-smoker to get lung cancer. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ijc.29036/full

This study that shows THC can actually causes tumor cells to destroy themselves.
http://www.nature.com/nrc/journal/v12/n6/full/nrc3247.html .

This study on CBD shows it keeps cancer cells from infecting other healthy cells which in turn prevents cancer from spreading.

These studies are easily found with a simple google search so the fact that Mr. Rapert is so easily able to discount science and make these ridiculous statements only proves that he has no interest in helping people. So what exactly are his interest? I hear he has received lobby donations from pharmaceutical companies, exactly how much money has he received from these companies? We know these companies stand to lose a lot of money once medical marijuana hits. Is he acting on behalf of these pharmaceutical companies instead of the will of Arkansans that have already spoken and voted for this? I believe he is.
