Re: “UPDATE: Special prosecutor to handle Hot Springs child's death

Terrible things cab and do happen to good people, and unfortunately sometimes good things happen to bad people. Not really sure if either of those statements have anything to do with this situation. As a parent, I cannot fathom the hurt, the emotional and physical loss of such a beautiful young boy. In the same breath, raising children is exciting, especially at this age. The children are walking and learning words and becoming little people with unique characteristics and qualities. I can only speak for myself, and I am not judging the judge. I have been part of the justice system and served my community for more than a decade. As a busy professional who sometimes juggled 3 jobs at once, the one thing that I could always look forward to was coming home to my babies. It's what made the horrible monsters that I dealt with disappear with just a smile and an acknowledgment from their caring eyes. I don't recall much silence from any of our children between the ages of 1 and 5. My toddlers were very busy learning and taking in all the things that their minds were trying to make sense of. In a busy world, I might accidentally leave my keys, my wallet, my phone in a car, even left my daughter in her car seat once when I was scraping the ice off of my window and letting the car run to get warm. she climbed out of her seat and locked herself in. That made me change how I saw things and I went out of my way to play out potential hazards in my head before going through the motions. I say these things not to compare or judge or make myself out to be parent of the year, but I do say this.... As a parent I could not go 15 seconds without knowing where the little human being that I brought into this world and that relies soley on me was and the very one that I am responsible for. I am not a control freak, but I definitely could not close my eyes, or get caught up in anything for any length of time that would draw my attention away from my child's existence. I believe there can be numerous reasons that would make sense of what happened here, but we can only speculate at this time (unless you have first hand knowledge). Something might be able to explain what occurred and make sense of it all, but in the mean time, I pray for all those involved. You do not have to have faith in our justice system or worrying aboutthis falling into hands of the good ol boy system, God is ultimately in control and can and does make and allow some of the strangest and the most miraculous things to occur. Pray, don't judge.
