Wayne, it just seems to indicate a willingness to throw common sense and reason out the window if it affirms your opinion of your political enemies (here, a vilification of Obama and anyone who sees room for a discussion about certain limits on gun control), and that type of thing can be really scary to a lot of people, especially when talking about someone who is up for an important political office. It makes them think maybe you would be ok with ignoring reason and logic on other issues too, as long as it goes against the party/parties you oppose.
Re: “UPDATE: Sandy Hook massacre a hoax? Two Arkansas candidates seem to think so”
The right to bear arms is being "infringed" and must. People shouldn't be able to take weapons into the capitol building, onto airplanes, and so forth. Fully automatic guns should not be able to be purchased or kept by private citizens and larger "arms" like shoulder launched ground-to-air missiles should not be available either. We already are doing all these things and they are "infringement" but acceptable. It's not all black and white - and the majority of citizens think the gray line needs moving even further than it is right now, whether you like it or not.
