Re: “Fall weekends in Arkansas are delicious

I really like this column, Michael! It's always fun to read about what other people are eating and doing!

Our weekend included Mexican food at Casa Manana West for dinner Saturday night. I have other favorite Mexican spots too, but something about the chips and guacamole keep bringing me back to CM.

Also...it was my birthday weekend so there was no such thing as too much sugar. John brought home some fudge and truffles from the new Kilwin's franchise in the Rivermarket. Soooooo good. I also ate an embarrassing number of Iced Sugar Cookies from Community Bakery. My pick for Best Cookie in LR. :)

Re: “Exile in Guyville at Twin Peaks

I really liked Cozymel's too. In fact, my husband and I arrived on the Sunday afternoon they shut down and hadn't even bothered to tell the workers. They were all standing around like "what the hell?" It was sad. Sounds like this place is even sadder.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: pancreas and pulled pork

For Slow Yeti...lucky YOU to be going to a great food city like Portland! Here are my recommendations: Pambiche for great Cuban food, Ken's Artisan Bakery, Apizza Scholls..for the best pizza on this planet, Pok Pok for wonderful Thai food, and Mother's downtown for breakfast/brunch. And make sure to get some Stumptown coffee while you're there. In a city like Portland, it's hard to go wrong.

Re: “Quit passing by El Palenque

This is my favorite review you've ever written. :) "Sassy orange."

Re: “Food Feedback Friday

HUGE love for the pastries from Mylo Coffee Co. This morning my husband and I tried three kinds of croissants... butter, cheddar, and chocolate...and the fabulous kouign amman. The croissants were absolutely incredible, but the delicious, buttery, star of the show was the kouign amman. It got better with every bite.

Stephanos and crew are richly deserving of all the praise that is sure to be heaped upon them in the coming months. Little Rock is so lucky they are here. Let's hope they find the perfect storefront soon!

Re: “At Mylo Coffee Company, a new pastry king is crowned

I am so excited about this! The only kouign amman I've ever had was in Portland. And no pastry has come close to it since.

My husband, because he is amazing, called Stephanos and placed an order for us to try this weekend. Can't wait!

Re: “Dale's Donuts makes a morning bright

The strawberry donut at Dale's is the Holy Grail of donuts. Homemade strawberry icing with real strawberries. They run out of them almost every day. Go early and experience donut nirvana!
