Re: “Portable Kitchen Grills: built for the long smoke

I'm so proud! This morning I bought a Dutchess Over model of the PK Grill!! I've been missing my two PK grills terribly---long story but they're currently mired in Pineville, Louisiana. I'm still determined to bring them home! But for right now, I'm busy learning about the Dutchess! I didn't even know they existed. And actually I had bought my two PK grills while living in Austin, Tx from 1983 to 2000. A medium sized one and a larger one. My parents were visiting me in Austin, and it was my dad who spied my first PK, stating that he was buying it for me-----that it would be a good grill for me. Smart guy my dad!!! He was familiar with that type grill. It proved to be a great grill, and well, I'm a picker.......I became one starting in 1987-ish, although actually I'd been garage and estate saling pretty much my whole life at that point. I wound up finding my somewhat larger PK Grill on my own, definitely the perfect accompaniment to my first one. Now, when I finally bring them to my home, they'll have a little sister!! I look forward to trying out my dutchess. I surely did do a double take this morning, and but I didn't allow myself to get excited---I just quietly stepped aside, and researched the grill on my iphone, all the while keeping an eye on my find. I wound up buying it plus a hefty piece of petrified wood, an ironwire trellis, and a string of vintage styled Chistmas bubble lights.

I only attended the one sale, I've been on hiatus due to the death of my mom, and my being overwhelmed with sorting through things.

But this morning------aah! Just confirmation that my picker abilities are still sharp, lol. I've charcoal awaiting, alongsidei a chimney coal lighter, and and frozen meat awaiting thawing------just right now, the doggone summer heat and humidity of the Texarkana,Tx area.......overwhelms me......I just have to stay patient till cool weather rolls in, and well hopefully I get to do a cookout on my birthday, September 20th,

PS> The dutchess model I have is three legged.....and framework it rests in?.....well the handle is missing.....I'd sure be appreciative if someone could turn me on to a place where I could obtain a replacement handle. I am hoping the current PK Grill makers, ikn Little Rock, can assist me in that regard. But meanwhile, I'm not averse to finding a handle elsewhere, even.......eve f if it is a make do, it would just make it easier to steer, when I roll it to store it away. Thx
