Re: “Beebe mayor has God's back

Religion is to be kept in the church and home. NOT in government.

What leaves a bad taste in my mouth about this town is that this man being celebrated by so many in the comments obviously knows very little about this country's history. He pushes his religion on others and uses his government station as leverage to do so. He then completely disrespects the sacrifices of our soldiers who have fought and died to protect our Constitutional rights by disallowing people in his town to put those Amendments into practice.
Not only does he do this, but he justifies it by saying he is doing work for his deity based on HIS beliefs. There is a reason why we have a freedom both of and from religion. God in the pledge of allegiance as well as on US money did not begin until after the Red Scare as a propaganda tactic against "Godless Communism", and it is completely unConstitutional for any government official to demonstrate a religious bias in his workplace as well as in government conducted meetings- it violates Separation of Church and State as well as the First Amendment. If you want a theocracy, move to Israel or Afghanistan.
