Re: “Governor exploring possibility of compromise on HB 1228

I appreciate HB 1228. To help you understand, it would go against my conscience to bake a cake for a homosexual wedding. I have no problem having a lesbian cashier serving me at a checkout stand. The choice of that cashier has nothing to do with my choice. I am not against her but her choice to take part in homosexuality. Her choice to do what she does in her own home does not require me to go against my conscience. I would have no problem teaching a child of a homosexual in public school. Doing so does not force me to take part in what the couple is doing that I regard as wrong (and even harmful to the child). I suppose that those who are against this bill would want me to be out of business or in jail all because I will not live against my conscience by baking a cake for a gay wedding? Think about this line of thought, folks. Homosexuals can go elsewhere to find a baker for their wedding. Why do they want to press a Christian to bake a cake or take photos for a gay wedding when there are ample business people who line up with their way of thinking?.... The line of thinking that has become popular as of late is focused on not just supporting the LGBT but on the beginning stages of the persecution Christians. If this bill and similar bills like it across the US are not passed, the persecution of Christians will increase until it is on a downward spiral that will be difficult to stop. Eventually, the rights of Christians will be stripped until the only Christians left in the US are those who will withstand the persecution. Maybe that is what you all want. Maybe that is the true intention here, but I think that someone ought to print that intention here according to its complete truth.
