Re: “Author of email forwarded by Leslie Rutledge: people offended by email are unfamiliar "with literary technique"

Bullshit. I write in vernacular and dialect all the time. But I know when I am being condescending or offensive. Perhaps we should forgive Ms. Gardner for being a piss-poor writer who has no business whatsoever using a pen or a word processor.

Re: “Announcing the 2014 Arkansas Times Fiction Contest

Oh well. Best Arkan-centric I have was published in a small press anthology out of Atlanta. But I hold all rights.

Re: “Dying Arkansas firefighter fights to collect stalled pension

Good real news reporting, Mr. Koon. And thanks to Max as well. Especially at this moment with the national connection to the Zadroga 9-11 responders' benefits act, this is an extremely important issue for the state of Arkansas to resolve in a righteous and expedient manner.

Pity that perhaps Bud Planchon is the "canary in the coal mine", but LOPFI must be taught that they are not a business to profit Clark and the Board. They are a benefits administration board whose job is to see to it that the men who paid in and suffered as they protected the public are recompensed WITH THEIR OWN CONTRIBUTED MONEY and cared for by a grateful public.

Re: “Protest planned at state police and fire pension office

It's about damned time somebody noticed. I have known Bud Planchon in a professional capacity since about 1997 in my capacity as a news reporter in NWA. He's a "Boy Scout" (I'm not).

Bud has always proved himself to be an honorable and honest man who unflinchingly did his duty at Springdale FD.

To see him cast-off and denied the benefits HE PAID FOR is a travesty. An absolute failure if the system he trusted and bought into.
