Re: “UPDATE: Circuit judge rules that DHS must release Leslie Rutledge's personnel records

An attorney, working for the dept. of human services, representing children in adoption cases and juvenile court, with cases on the court docket, who quits without notice and effective immediately? hell, yeah, put a "do not rehire" on her! i don't know what constitutes "gross misconduct" for DHS in her case, but leaving juvenile clients in the lurch, without notice, piling more cases on her co-workers, sounds like gross misconduct as a human to me.

Re: “Proposal for additional marijuana "privilege" tax

i don't pay taxes on my prescriptions at the pharmacy - why is this going to be different for the sick people it is intended for? they are planning taxes on sales as if this was for recreational use. i do believe, as someone else on this thread does, that they are going to make it so expensive to grow, dispense, and buy that it will fail altogether.

they have failed to meet the deadline as the original amendment required. voted themselves an extension on that deadline. think they will raise millions for the state in taxes.

only an arkansas legislature would take a law that a majority voted for and screw it up like this. if this is important to you, identify those politicians who are working against your vote - rep. doug house and sen. jason rapert come to mind immediately - and do your best to vote THEM out in their next election.

Re: “Senate defeats resolutions on amendments to prohibit same-sex marriage and ban abortion

how much taxpayer money does it take to continue defending the same damn bills and amendments that, over and over, have been struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court as unconstitutional, violation of separation of church and state, etc.? money that could be spent taking care of children, the elderly, veterans, and the homeless?

Arkanzin, i hope so! i sincerely hope to see the back of this guy at the next election, unless investigation of his so-called ministry makes it sooner. shady operation!

Re: “Sen. Rapert appeals for money

guess the koch bros aren't giving him enough - they gotta finance tom cotton, too, and he's more expensive. this guy's agenda is getting in the way of representing all of his constituents and listening when arkansans speak. i'll be glad when he's gone, though i'm afraid his taste for publicity won't lessen.

Re: “Bills would prohibit smoking marijuana and allow local governments to ban dispensaries without consulting voters

so much for the arkansans who voted for medical marijuana. all i see are attempts to make it as difficult to obtain as possible and make it as expensive as possible, from the growers to the dispensaries to the patients.
