Re: “Farewell to a school teacher, Susan Turner Purvis

I am a former student of Mrs.Purvis. I was 5 years old when I met her and now I'm 32 years old. She was such a pure woman. I can remember her always speaking with such joy about her family. To know Mrs.Purvis was to love her. My classmates and I knew she loved us and cared for us. She pushed us no matter what. I can remember doing a clay sculpture of Bill Clinton on a pony and she was amazed so she entered it a contest and also sent a picture to Bill Clinton. After he received the picture he sent me letter. I have so many memories of her. I will hold on to those memories. Whenever I would visit Gibbs I made sure I went to her class. I'm deeply saddened about her passing. I will continue to keep her family and all affected by her passing.
