Re: “Meet Wes Clark's 30-year-old girlfriend

Who cares? Has Perez Hilton taken over the Arktimes? Can we get back to talking about actual news?

Re: “Spa city, New Orleans-style

My experience was completely opposite. I went with my son (14 months old) at lunch time. Nice view at the window table. Waiter was too chatty. Would NOT leave me alone, regaling me with his life story. Overeager waitstaff could be forgiven, if the "seafood gumbo" had been more than a bowl with a little broth in it, and one, lonely shrimp hung from the side. Then, my crabcakes arrived. Frozen in the middle. They recooked a couple more for me. Not quite frozen, but merely lukewarm, that time. Couldn't pay me to go back.

Re: “Dogtown does lunch, breakfast right

I went to Dogtown specifically because of this review...And was deeply disappointed. The food was bland...I tried the eggs benedict, and if you're not going to give someone benedict, at least warn them. It was overseasoned, the bacon was burned, and the sauce that replaced hollandaise tasted like it had taco seasoning dumped in it. Not appealing.

I was also put off by the 'atmosphere.' The staff was uninterested and the 'regulars', I assume, were openly distasteful of my child (who, for the record, was quiet and well-behaved). Not going back.

Re: “Rosalinda is the real deal

I haven't had any problems with service. The people are nice, the veggie burrito is fantastic (great option for vegetarians out there. Not sure if it's okay for vegans, but has no obvious animal components), and they carry Mexican cokes....real sugar and a glass bottle; the only soda product I'll indulge in occasionally. Perfect!

Re: “Veggie breakfast at the Root: the good, bad and ugly

I wanted to read about the new breakfast menu at The Root, which is what the title implied I would be reading. There is NO discussion of the menu. I am not opposed to political discussion, but don't mislead your audience.

Further, this seems entirely less like a political 'discussion' than a pointless and mean-spirited bash of Corrie, who is the nicest person I think I've ever met in the restaurant business. It gives the impression that the author walked in the door just dying for an excuse to say something negative.
