Re: “Lead Hill school merger fails on tie vote

It seems funny to me that in all I just read about the school closing not one word was mentioned about the “good of the children” or the education of the children.

When Dr. Marshall was the Superintendent things were going good. When Bobby Gray was there he got the school out of financial distress and as soon as he did the “Board“ fired him. How many Certified teachers were at the school when these two were in charge and how many do they have now?

The Lead Hill School Board does not care about the education of the students. Their motivation is jobs for their relatives, their own health care through the school and to remain in charge. Mrs. Brown has removed almost all the highly qualified, Certified teachers because they did not want to pay those salaries. But the school pays her almost $86,000.00 a year. Why does the school need two Principles, only one of which is certified and a Superintendent when they have only 330 to 350 students?

Perhaps that is why they have lost so many students to Bergman. The parents who pay attention to this sort of thing would rather drive their children to another school to get a good education rather then just go to sports activities.

If the Lead Hill School Board does not want to run the school for education then the logical answer would be to merge with Bergman school only 10 miles away.
