Re: “The big money in the Preferred Family Healthcare corruption scandal: Medicaid behavioral health services

Here in the UK we have a mental health provider funded by the NHS (National Health Service). The service is called IAPT (Improving Access To Psychological Therapies. It mainly employs a low skill workforce treating patients with CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). Our press are way behind on this. The widespread knowledge within the service is that managers place pressure on psychological therapists, who then pass that pressure on to patients to report greater improvements in their condition than is true. No experienced diagnosis of patients is taking place, so the whole operation falsely reports recovery rates in order to obtain payment from the NHS. This is a multi-million pound fraud that also sidesteps patients needs and creates patient waiting lists where there would be none, if only patients had been professionally treated by fully qualified therapists - not under pressure to fiddle figures. The government are delighted with a service that fakes improvements - yet it's all smoke and mirrors at every stage of the patient's journey - from oneset to suicide.
