Re: “Gov. Asa Hutchinson now backs Donald Trump for president

I could write paragraphs about our governor, but I'll settle on this one point, for now: When Governor Hutchinson said, "I do believe the Republican Party’s fiscally conservative approach to government...", I have to wonder if he's able to say that with a straight face. When Ronald Wilson Reagan left office, the US Government was larger than when he found it, and his tax cuts for the wealthy created a massive debt and deficit spending. When Bill Clinton left office, the US Government was roughly the same size as when he found it, and he left with a budget surplus. After eight years of GW Bush, government agencies and employees grew by a huge amount, debt and deficit spending increased, and for the first time in the history of our nation, a president put us on a war footing (in two theaters) AND LOWERED taxes, all while simultaneously coming up with the Medicare Drug Plan, AND putting it and two wars on the national credit card. Bush 43 had a Republican controlled Congress for six of his eight years, and vetoed NOT ONE SPENDING BILL. NONE, zilch, nada. Anyone, ANYONE, in the US that spouts that line about fiscal conservatism (on the national level) is in la-la land. That would include Asa Hutchinson.
