Re: “Rapert says governor should take cues on marriage from Southern Baptist Convention president

Jason knows about Southern Baptist. After abandoning the faith in which he was raised he became an Assembly of God evangelist, going as far as to set up his own ministry--Holy Ghost Ministries. This group raised money for Rapert and friends to travel to Africa at times convincing local Rotary Clubs to help foot the bill. When Rapert was moved into a Senate district including Conway he conducted a poll which showed that there were more Baptist there and he promptly ran back to a denomination he once claimed was to tame for his taste. Fellow church members at Central Baptist in Conway wish he would go away.

Re: “Mark Darr drops out of 4th District congressional race

It is for the best the Lt. Governor Mark Darr is dropping out of the race. Due to the serious nature of the allegations concerning his campaign expense reports it is the right decision. To FSMXNA to compare the actions of Secretary of State Mark Martin to Bookout or Darr shows that you are a partisan hack and incapable of thought. Martin used public money in a public fashion. He relied on previous Attorney Generals memos to make his decision. He did not use campaign money in an illegal fashion. The current Attorney General of Arkansas uses his office for partisan gain so I do not blame Republican Constitutional officers for wishing to seek outside legal advise rather than use such a partisan who refuses to do his job and represent the state and its constitutional officers. You like so many on this blog have an ax to grind with Martin and in doing so you often show you lack of intelligence.

Re: “Monday night line: the REALLY wrong side of history

you are really willing to compare these legislators to Lester Maddox? I suggest that you pick up a history book even one written by a liberal.

Re: “UPDATES: U.S. Supreme Court strikes down part of Voting Rights Act; no decisions on gay marriage

Justice Roberts, Alito, and Scalia are all Roman Catholic as well. Religion has little to nothing to do with being a political zealot. Dogmatic political positions make a zealot and both the left and the right are full of them. The Founding Fathers left qualifications for voting, being able to vote, and administering all elections up to the state not the Federal Government. Try reading the Constitution. It was not until after the Civil War with the Force Bill that the Federal Government attempted to take this Constitutional Right away from the states. If you and your liberal friends like federal intervention in elections so much i suggest you begin a drive for a Constitutional Amendment which would take the regulation of elections out of the hands of states and place it in the hands of the bloated federal government, the same federal government that spies on us, abuses the powers already given it, and the same government which the American people trust less now than ever before in history. I thought President Obama (See I respect the office but not the man) was going to have the most open administration in American history, I guess he had his fingers crossed since he makes President Nixon look like a boy scout, before they let in homosexual, and makes President Clinton look like a fire breathing conservative. I am not one of those who thinks the nation will not survive President Obama, we have survived poor management before, in my lifetime we have survived President Ford and President Carter. I just think the nation will be so much better off when President Obama and his lackeys, who would not even have been qualified to sweep the floors in the West Wing under Bill Clinton are gone from power.

I consider her just as much of a zealot as Justice Roberts.
