Re: “Open carry: Prosecutor Jegley gets it right

Olphart, you might do well to understand what A Well Regulated Militia meant in the 18th century, not The milita of the military. Properly working was it's definition and A militia was All the people, not the military or government as you apparently think.

Elwood, the only person trolling is you. Maybe you don't know what trolling means seeing as you have no other statements on the subject at hand.

Re: “Open carry: Prosecutor Jegley gets it right

Wannabee and Sound Policy, i have spoke with the sponsors of act 746 numerous times. I know the facts. I also know what he said when it was voted in and did not go into details. Most who voted it in were too ignorant to understand what was written in it or didn't bother reading it at all. It passed. Poor leadership? Yes we do have poor leadership all around. Denny did what he could to help even though it was poorly accomplished. Either way, the Constitution supercedes it. I am unaware of when we decided we needed laws that can tell us what we Can do on top of what we Can't do. What happened in the 18th century happened for a reason. You might want to research your facts on that so you don't forget why it happened. I am not just a single issue person. I believe in all our Liberties. All of them are equal to me. I don't see why Open carry is an issue. It is no different than concealed. Yes you can see it, but would you not rather see it then wonder about if a person had a weapon? Either way, carrying a weapon is still carrying a weapon. Turning a Right into a Privilege and charging a fee for it is not only Unconstitutional, but Extortion as well. I would feel the same about all of our rights should anyone ever try to do this to another.

The vague law, which is not vague to people with common sense, in this State has no grounds beyond the Constitution. That's what we are talking about. I don't play around with our rights. It is sorry it takes an insult for people to finally notice things in this country.

Wannabee Conservative, are your feelings hurt or are you just a big asshat like Jegley that believe the constitution doesn't mean squat? Sorry for the autocorrect feature on my new phone upsetting you and making you reply only because of that. Seems you have no argument to bring to the table. It also seems you don't care about rights. Treading on people's rights is an insult. If you are ok with that, then you deserve what you get. Sorry it isn't all rainbows for you. Also, nothing outweighs the Bill of Rights. Your feelings are meaningless where those are concerned. Have fun trolling.

Re: “Open carry: Prosecutor Jegley gets it right

Sure, let's forget about both state and federal constitutions. Just bully the citizens into court cases and legal fees so they just not exercise their 2nd amendment rights. It seems the only confused people are certain lawyers and government officials. The sponsors of the act stated its intent long ago. Legislation didn't open it back up because of fear it could be back peddled into stripping rights like the former law. Regardless of the few mentally ill or terrorist acts across the country, it does not outway an individual's inalienable right. Get that through your thick heads.
