Re: “Amazon goes to war against sales taxes

This sales tax, in Arkansas, does not apply to all small businesses that do Internet commerce. The Arkansas law affected Amazon affiliates (websites that promote Amazon products and earn a commission for any sales generated). I have a few websites that depend on such income, and I have been notified by Amazon that I will not longer be able to promote their products effective this month. The State of Arkansas is not gaining any money from MY Amazon sales; I'm simply losing a source of income on which I pay Arkansas income tax. And, yes, I promoted WalMart products, too. People don't buy online because they don't have to pay sales tax; they usually more than make up for that by paying a shipping charge. They buy online because of numerous choices and ease of shopping.
