Re: “Medicaid "private option" has expand-o-meter heating up

"Republicans 'have a lot of ownership in this model.'" Good to hear. Because those private option plans are either going to be ultra-expensive so the poor don't have co-payments, or the plans will have co-pays but the poor can't afford them. If it's the latter, then there'll be no increased demand for services and therefore, no need for more health care jobs. No new jobs means no new tax revenue for the state.
But, if the private plans don't have co-pays, we'll have the same economic boom, but for a much bigger price tag. They acted like they were worried about Medicaid's alleged waste, fraud and abuse. We'll spend 27% more money just on administrative and marketing costs with a private insurer. And let's not forget the profit margin or the big salaries for insurance execs! Such beloved middle men!
So, yes, state Republican party, OWN this. Tie yourselves to it tightly so you sink with it when people finally wake-up and realize it's nothing but a massive cash dump into the for-profit insurance companies. This isn't about what's best for our state or the health care of Arkansans. The "private expansion option" is a horrible idea! It's a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars!
