Re: “Holmes: Little Rock principal reassignments to stand

I attended the Williams parent meeting at the LRSD. The room was completely full. There were many people in the lobby watching on monitors. There were a lot of Williams students outside. They had made signs. The whole school board was in attendance. The speakers were very well prepared with strong but sensible remarks. All of this effort in 100+ heat. It was a total waste of everyone's time and energy. If this outstanding and heartfelt presentation didn't effect a change, the previous decision was already irreversible. Dr. Holmes seems like a good man. He made some kind comments. He came so close to reversing the decision right then, but didn't. If Dr. Holmes couldn't go on and respond to that effective of a presentation, the heartbreaking message is clear: the course of the school district is determined by the poor performing schools and principals rather than the excelling ones.
