Re: “Thirty-four years of Readers Choice

Poison Apple, Lou and Ann were great people. My husband and I own The Faded Rose and they were great customers of ours. Anytime they were in town they would come in to eat and visit. I've often wondered what ever became of their restaurant after he died. That's a shame to let a great establishment decline like that but a suppose it's not uncommon.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: a badger, a birthday, and Bruno's

Just because a restaurant is not new and getting all the press from the foodies and bloggers doesn't mean that it's not relevant by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: “Guilty pleasures

Arby's Beef and Cheddar with Horsey Sauce. Chicken Tenders from Chik-fil-A (I agree with Midge on the politics making it an even more guilty pleasure) and Cheetos with a nice glass of Zinfandel. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Re: “Doe's and the trouble with tamales

You are right peterjkraus. I haven't had them in years but I remember them being wonderful, that and their Knock You Naked Margaritas.

Pascuales Tamales in Helena and Rhoda's Tamales in Lake Village both do a good job.

Re: “J. Gumbo's is a spicy success

If I'm going to eat out I want the restaurant to cook it's food on premise. I prefer not to eat food that comes in a boiling bag. For that I could eat food out of the freezer case at the market. No thank you. There are too many other great choices out there.
